The first anthology of its kind in the West, collecting the work of sixteen Iraqi writers. Editor Shakir Mustafa grew up in Iraq and has taught at universities in Mosul in northern Iraq, in Baghdad, at Indiana University, Boston University, and is currently at Northeastern University. He teaches creative writing, beginning Arabic, contemporary Arab literature, and Islamic literatures.
