The West Hartford Public Library system sponsors three writing groups. Come and sit in on a meeting and see if you like it! No requirements or registration necessary. No obligation. Meetings are run by knowledgeable volunteers.
• The Faxon Poets, a library-sponsored group established in 2002, meets on the third Saturday
of every month at 10AM in the Noah Webster Library Board Room, 20 South Main Street, West Hartford. Meetings typically last two hours. Original poems are read and comments offered by group members at each meeting. If you are able, please bring 15- 20 copies of your poem (one page) to share on Saturday. Meeting procedures are HERE. • Connecticut Screenwriterswas established in April, 2004. The group meets on the last Wednesday
of every month (except Dec.) at 7 PM. Meetings are held in the Library Board Room, Noah Webster Library, 20 S. Main Street, West
Hartford. Park in the Isham Garage and go directly to the library to validate parking. The group's objective is to provide feedback on original scripts.
This group is not instructor-led; every month a new volunteer moderator is selected from the group to oversee the meeting, and to facilitate the distribution of scripts. Group is geared to those with some
screenwriting experience. New attendees welcome; those individuals who attend meetings regularly, and review submitted scripts, qualify to have

• West Hartford Fiction Writers meet on the second Thursday of every month at 7 PM. Meetings are held in the Library Board Room, Noah Webster Library, 20 S. Main Street, West Hartford. Park in the Isham Garage and go directly to the library Information Desk (Main Level) to validate parking. The group began in 2005, with the objective of providing feedback on original fiction. A new volunteer moderator selected from the group each month. New attendees welcome; only those attending regularly qualify to have their fiction reviewed by the group. Age 18 and older. Free.
