Les Francos à la Biblio—French Conversation and Discussion Group Thursday February 25 6:30–8:45 PM — Noah Webster Library—Meeting Room FILM: PERSEPOLIS (2007) This is a heartbreaking true story of a childhood coinciding with regime change and war in Iran. Persepolis is a 2007 French animated film based on Marjane Satrapi's autobiographical graphic novel of the same name. The story follows a young girl as she comes of age against the backdrop of the Iranian Revolution and the repressive regimes that followed the overthrow of the Shah. The film was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. In French with English subtitles. NOTE: The discussion afterwards will be in French. All are welcome to join us. Novelist DAVID RHODES will visit for National Library Week, Tuesday, April 13 at 7:00PM West Hartford Town Hall Auditorium, 50 South Main Street. Hailed as one of the best writers of his generation, David Rhodes published three novels in his twenties. Then, tragedy struck.
