Touch of Spring

Soothing breezes caress
dormant trees, hibernating creatures
wake-up call from Mother Nature.

Bare trees stretch arms

bathed in soft rays of sun

veiled by white clouds.

Cardinals, woodpeckers

poke empty hanging feeders

enjoy riding on a swing.

Hooting owls shuttle through forest

under cover of hazy moon
hunt innocent prey.

Spring showers usher groundhogs

rabbits, squirrels from hideout

stampede trailing night crawlers, snails

seeking spring dews.

Hikers, joggers with pets

explore new trails in forest
littered with drab leaves, decaying trees
dotted with colorful mushrooms.

Swooshing waterfall repels

up-swimming salmon

with glaring torrents.

Eagles hover high in sky
watch children
flying eagle-kites.

Canadian geese land, greet sheep, cows

grazing on herbage in meadow
sheepdogs happily jumping, barking
protect them.

Spring

everything alive in harmony

such graceful aesthetic.
