Faxon Poets

| Foreword Although many of us share life experiences – it sometimes takes the unique perspective of a poet to transform those experiences – through insight, image and nuance – to provide us with tangible realizations. We can use poetry to break through the habit of the ordinary. Once again, the twelve members of the Faxon Poets have joined together to offer their voices in a textured anthology providing us with a range of their work. The themes here are universal: family, growing old – with flashes of birds and wind through the hair – plus a little surprise, a little soul. Particularly because I have watched these individuals share and develop their poems within the monthly sessions, it is a special privilege to preserve and offer their work for you. We have compiled this anthology with the intent not just to collect the poems – but with the premise that the ongoing work itself matters – that each poet uses the writing itself to honor life and to grow and to discover. We dedicate this anthology to you the reader with the invitation to re-discover what’s special in each moment of our lives.
