National Library Week 2009

Elizabeth McCracken will read from her books on Tuesday, April 21, 7:00 p.m., at the West Hartford Town Hall auditorium.
McCracken's
latest book, The Exact Replica of a Figment of My Imagination, a memoir, was one of last year's "100 Notable Books," as selected by the New York Times. Her fiction works have deep and endearing characters and plots built on the vicissitudes of loving human relationships. They include a short-story collection, Here’s Your Hat What’s Your Hurry: Stories (1993), and the novels The Giant’s House: A Romance (1996), and Niagara Falls All Over Again (2001).
This event, presented yearly in honor of library advocate Herbert Hoffman, is free and open to the public. The Town Hall auditorium is on the 3rd Floor at 50 South Main Street. Free Parking in the Town Hall surface lot for those leaving after 8:00 p.m. Please calll the library at 860-561-6990 for more information.
