West Hartford street maps from the library’s collection of local atlases have been digitized and reproduced through a generous gift from the Friends of the West Hartford Public Library.
The reproduction plates are available in the Local History room at the Main Library. The plates showing West Hartford streets from atlases published by the L.J. Richards & Company in 1896 and 1909 are available in PDF files online.

Plate 21 – Town of West Hartford with a detailed inset of an area bordered by
Prospect Avenue, Asylum Avenue, Steele Road and Asylum Ave. This is the
only plate which shows detail for the north and west areas of the town.
Plate 22 – East side of town from Prospect Avenue west to just beyond Outlook
Avenue and from Elizabeth Park and Asylum Avenue south to just beyond
Plate 23– West Hartford Center and the surrounding area
Plate 24 – Southeast corner of West Hartford, from just north of Flatbush Ave. to
the Newington town line and from Prospect Avenue west to Trout Brook.
