ESOL Classes in the library
Practice English is an informal drop-in program for those who want to improve their English skills. The group meets from 10am-12pm on Fridays at the Faxon Library, 1073 New Britain Ave. No registration is necessary.
If you are a speaker of a language other than English and you would like to learn to practice English, please contact Pramod Pradhan, Community Engagement Librarian, at the Faxon Branch Library at (860) 561-8202.
This is an adult intermediate level English class for people with some English experience, who can hold some conversations speaking about everyday topics and personal preferences. The class will review grammar basics, learn how to offer and request advice, talk about plans, and fix common mistakes in English pronunciation.
There are also opportunities for volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering to virtually teach ESOL classes, please contact Pramod Pradhan at the number shown above.
Building Connections: A Book Club for Immigrants
The Building Connections Book Club is for West Hartford Advanced English learners who want to develop their English reading and communication skills in a diverse, inspiring and encouraging environment. Participants will be given reading material each week and then meet in a group to ask questions and discuss the text.
