About Nations of West Hartford

Nations of West Hartford is an initiative of Linnea Knox in partnership with the West Hartford Public Library, sharing stories of people from all over the globe who now call West Hartford home.

Welcome to Nations of West Hartford! My name is Linnea Knox, and I am currently a junior in high school. I am so excited to share this project with you.

During the summer of 2025, I volunteered at the Faxon Branch of the West Hartford Public Library, where I helped individuals complete citizenship applications and assisted in English language classes. I found this work incredibly meaningful, as it reflects my growing interest in the legal field and international relations. During my time at the library, I had the opportunity to engage in many conversations with members of the community. By listening to their stories, rich with emotion and personal experience, I gained a greater insight into the different cultures that comprise the town of West Hartford. After hearing stories like these on several occasions, I felt inspired to find a way to share them with a broader audience. From that moment, Nations of West Hartford was born.

My goal is to connect members of the greater West Hartford community through shared hobbies, traditions, or simple everyday perspectives. Beyond West Hartford, I hope that this encourages renewed engagement in libraries as community hubs and highlights the importance of listening. It is through listening that we learn from each other, and ultimately, grow stronger together.
